Padraig Pearse was one of the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising and was one of the Signatories of the Irish Proclamation which he read out to the people outside the GPO on O’Connell Street (Then Sackville Street) on Easter Monday April 24th 1916.
Pearse was a school teacher and ran an Irish Language school here at St Enda’s Park named Scoil Eanna(st endas) hear the story of the life and times of Padraig Pearse as we explore this wonderful Park which contains a remarkable collection of 18th and 19th monuments often referred to as ‘follies’
